TBH, even after the tune I'm not totally happy. I'm in the isle of man currently and I make a video each year I am here. I think my 2010 S1000RR was quicker. But I feel this handles better, I don't know, but I certainly don't feel "super charged"reverend wrote: Wed May 30, 2018 2:13 am I purchased my bike 3 weeks ago and to be honest, I'm a little disappointed with the performance. The stock ZX-14R I had before this bike definitely accelerated faster. I certainly see a tune in the near future. Does anyone know a good tuner (perhaps one who uses Woolich software) in the Phoenix/Mesa AZ area?

Re: Got tuned today
It honestly doesn't feel much different. It tends to try to wheelie in low gears but other than that I'm not feeling it. I think I might need a quick action throttle or something.

There are a few. If your side hard wanting to stay in the Phoenix-Mesa area you can talk with Collin at Amp Motor(works? Sports?). Or if you can handle driving down to Tucson Phil or Evan can get you sorted at ESP.
Additionally depending on how long you can or want to hold out, and how quick we can close on our house, we will be moving back to AZ this time to Maricopa instead of Oro Valley.

your tuner could have manipulated the throttle tables with the flash to make them nore agressive.

Re: Got tuned today
Maybe, but when I look at the throttle graph in sports I am really at 100%, so I am not cracking it open enough, maybe I just need to focus on that.vcyclenut wrote: Wed May 30, 2018 11:21 am your tuner could have manipulated the throttle tables with the flash to make them nore agressive.

Re: Got tuned today
Your overall gain of 37hp is a little lower than the results that woolich, vcyclenut and myself got. The 52hp gain you had was actually a little higher. But there is a huge difference in 52hp and 37hp gains. If 37hp gain was what was deemed safe it seems like pushing it to the 52hp gain would have been unsafe to do even on the dyno. What octane fuel are you using? Do you know what ignition timing you have up top?biosed wrote: Wed May 30, 2018 6:41 amTBH, even after the tune I'm not totally happy. But in reality peak power gains don't mean much for overall performance without low and mid range gains. Your chart doesn't really have any gain under 6,000rpms and it seems like the gains above are a little less than others have had. But with no gain around 6k rpms and under your not going to feel much of a difference.

Yeah agreed, guess that was a waste of money then! If I still have the bike over winter I might send to vcyclenut and try that, but don't want to be throwing more money at it and not feeling a difference.

Re: Got tuned today
I would head back to the tuner and tell him your concerns. I would ask them to improve the low and mid range. Most tuners would prefer to have happy customers than to get a bad rap.biosed wrote: Wed May 30, 2018 4:03 pm Yeah agreed, guess that was a waste of money then! I don't know. I though having the Akra, de baffled, I would get decent results. I thought I would feel the difference.cOoTeR wrote: Wed May 30, 2018 4:23 pmI would head back to the tuner and tell him your concerns. I would ask them to improve the low and mid range. I think I might need to reconsider keeping this bike or if I am keeping it bring it some where that has proven results with them, maybe the some where in the UK.

I think there is room for improvements in the low range where you'll feel the difference by looking at your graph.biosed wrote: Thu May 31, 2018 4:09 pmI don't know. Did you ever take your old bikes to a drag strip or somewhere where they timed it? It could be just as fast but the bike is so smooth that it doesn't feel like it's that fast.
Also with woolich it's possible to tune each gear independently. If they checked the wrong box they may have only tuned the gear they were running on the dyno by accident. It's not likely but could be the reason you don't feel much of a difference. After tuning mine it had a very noticeable difference.
