Handlebar Raisers?

Post by Zdude » Thu May 24, 2018 2:04 pm

Anybody have any info on raisers like "Heli-bars"? I wouldn't mind an inch up and maybe 1/2 inch back. 1 inch lower pegs would be great too, did both these to my 2013 ZX14 and it was far more comfortable with these minor changes. Seat needs to be addressed too, a little firmer for support on those 300-500 mile days.

About 1,300 miles on the H2SXSE so far.

I agree, I'd really like to have the bars higher by about 3/4 to 1" AND the pegs lowered about 1"...I'm 5'll" with 34" inseam.

I installed Convertibars on a both a SV650 and GSXR750 and it was the best mod ever...I could do track days and sport-touring in comfort.

Peg lowering brackets shouldn't be too hard to fabricate for someone with the right tools...

The front of the stock seat is angled down a bit too much for me...I may see if I can level it out somehow...the foam is too hard in my opinion, but I'm sure the aftermarket will have something before too long.

Dear Kawasaki, how about offering the parts to make this bike more rideable for longer distances?

Seat comfort and footpeg distance could be solved in one move by having someone like Sargent reconfigure the seat. Of course that might make the handlebar height more of an issue for you guys but it only leaves one problem to solve.

I don't have an issue with bar height. It felt a bit weird at first simply because it's different to what I'm used to. I'm used to it now and not having any problems with comfort. I'm not so sure about the seat. Each time I get on the bike it feels like a rock hard piece of board but, to my surprise, it hasn't caused any issues. So far my longest ride on the H2 SX has only been 200 miles so that's not giving me a true indication of how it might be on a road trip.

This kit for the Ninja 1000 / Z1000SX looks like it would fit. I have not contacted Murphs, but someone interested could inquire. It should be quick for them to confirm.

I love the seat on the SE. I have already put in a 500 mile day on it. I will be putting on a 600 mile day on Sunday. It is much better than my old Z1000SX.

Like Champ I've been adapting to a new bike. But, after a 900 mile weekend, I think the bars will be alright. It just uses slightly different muscles in my lower back, and they're getting used to it. The seat really wasn't that bad. I had one mild "hot spot" feeling in the left cheek near the end of the weekend.

I'm saying this only as an additional data point. Not to say your feelings aren't valid. Everyone's body responds differently to these kinds of things. I think Helibar would be foolish not to offer some kind of riser for these bikes.

Motorcycling is not, of itself, inherently dangerous. It is, however, extremely unforgiving of inattention, ignorance, incompetence, or stupidity

I have noticed my seat gets pretty warm when riding around town35-45mph.

Just sent a request note about the Ninja 1000 bar raisers, hopefully either they will work or they will modify and adapt these to our bikes.
