currently 5k kilometers in and the OEM tires still have 4-5mm 'meat' left till the limiters.

I'm not really riding slowly either. I even did last 1k kilometers mostly on highways with speeds 200+ and the only downside now is that they start to look a bit squareish, but still, I think there's around 1k kilometers ahead on them.

I did a suspension setup for me personally after I got the bike though, so maybe that's it?
If you have 4-5 mm left after 5k, you must have 5k left to drive. Either are you driving more carefully than others, or you have another type of tires.

1891 miles official change mileage for my OEM set of S21s. The rear was touching a number of wear bars, and the front was starting to show cupping damage to the sips. I ran 38lbs both ends. Had the sag and suspension set up with a professional 1200 miles ago. To their detriment, I did a weekend trip in Arkansas too. That will half a tires life, easily.

Changed up to the MIchelin Road 5s. Looking forward to beating on them, lol

Motorcycling is not, of itself, inherently dangerous. It is, however, extremely unforgiving of inattention, ignorance, incompetence, or stupidity

This is how my tire looks after ~5200ish kilometers and some cornering today.

I got the chance to take my new H2 SX SE for a long 2000km, 1 week long road trip. Lots of twisty riding in the mountains, and also a lot in rainy weather. I had a lot of wheel slippage, especially in the wet. I've never had bridgestone tires before but I don't like them at all. I'm running 38psi front and 39psi rear. My previous tires on S1000RR were Sprotec M7 RR's and Rosso 2's.

What are others experience with these tires? How are you finding the grip? After a few small slips in the wet, it reduced my confidence in the dry also.

Havent tried them on wet tarmac, but they are very good on dry, at least from my pov. Very good grip, never had any issues or slips on them. New set of Angel GT's are waiting in the shed though ;) Bridgestones are disappearing too fast.

I took my front off today to take it in to get a new tire installed. I was running late so I didn't take a picture of it. But I had a weird tear in one of my treads. Where the treads are cut out at the bottom there was a tear that ran from one side of the tread to the other. It was kind of like a flap.
