How I installed an aftermarket air filter today.
How I installed an aftermarket air filter today.
I installed A new aftermarket air filter today. I went with the P08F1-85 for the regular H2 and it fit perfect. Install was really easy it only took 25 min and that includes taking pictures (I'm having trouble uploading them but I'll try later). I could probably do it in about 15min if I had a reason to go fast.
All you need is a 4mm and 5mm hex key and a new filter. - I removed the seat
- I removed the bolts holding the trim piece that's beside the tank and the push pin on the bottom to loosen it.
-I removed the back lower left fairing bolt and the one above it.
- I removed the bolts at the top of the left fairing and that have me the clearance I needed to remove the intake tube.
- I removed the 3 bolts on the tube.
- I removed the 3 bolts holding the airbox on and pulled it out from behind the air intake duct and cleaned the bugs out.
- I removed the old filter.
- I put the new filter in its place.
- I reinstalled everything in reverse order.

What made you select the P08 F1-85 versus the P08 filter?cOoTeR wrote: Sat May 05, 2018 1:01 am I installed A new aftermarket air filter today. They claim it will flow as good as the P16 race only filter but filters as good as the P08. Better flow and equal filtration are why I chose it.

No problem. I'm not the most technically advanced or mechanically inclined individual but I normally do 90% of my own work on my vehicles. I've learned a lot from forums over the years from the how to posts. There doesn't seem to be a lot here yet so I figured I'd help others out where I can.

The beauty of this set up is you'd really have to mess up to drop something in this engine when you have the filter off. If you've ever dropped something into a throttle body and had to retrieve it from resting on the butterfly you know what I'm talking about.
