Re: Check engine light
Wow, and I filled up at a chevron and wasn't riding it hard at all.
What is the code reset procedure? I'll see if it comes back.

Re: Check engine light
ive had fly by wire bikes go into limp mode but they will usually reset when you cycle the key
hopefully if its the knock sensor its just something loose and rattling fooling it

Re: Check engine light
Good news. Thanks to @Verizoncellular1, I was able to identify the code (7b) and work a solution. I ended up with a lot of water in the fuel. Yes, even a Chevron station can have crap gas. I was able to limp home and siphon the fuel out and fill up with some good stuff. When the Limp Mode kicks in for this, it steals almost all your power. Once you get good fuel in it again, the bike runs at full power, even with the check engine light being on. The reset procedure works as stated in the pic of the repair manual.
I am planning on keeping a few ounces of octane booster in a small bottle in my tail just for an emergency like this. Had I been in the middle of nowhere when all this mayhem occurred it could have been dangerous. I was VERY happy to see that the power was back even with the engine light still on.
Thanks again Verizoncellular1!!!

Nevermind I'm pretty sure they are throttle return spring and wheel speed sensor. I tripped them on the dyno by doing a run without the wheel speed sensor disabled. Just did the reset procedure and it's gone.

Re: Check engine light
Little late, but, your correct.
27 = Front wheel rotation sensor signal abnormal (sensor or rotor
missing, too large clearance, rotor tooth worn or missing,
wiring open)
49 = Return spring malfunction

Motorcycling is not, of itself, inherently dangerous. It is, however, extremely unforgiving of inattention, ignorance, incompetence, or stupidity
