Pillion problem
Pillion problem
Been driving with passenger few times and it is really uncomfortable for pillion. Wind blows hard already at 100 kph and she must push hard just to stay on. Anyone have same observations? I had zzr 1400, k1300s etc and none of those had this problem.. hope to keep the bike, but also girlfriend

Re: Pillion problem
Today, i went a litter over 1.000 km and that's 750 km with my wife.
She said: This is one of the best bikes we ever had with enough comfort. But she was used the last 4 years a Hayabusa en before that 5 years GSXR1000, 3 years GSXR750 and 4 years TL1000S.
Must admit, not driven above 150km/u yet (still in the breakin period)

Just few cm higher seat for me changed the situtation. And lower windscreen is better option for us

I have gone on a lot of rides with my gf she loves the bike, we have been in excess of 150 two up
my gf is several inches shorter then me, which I would imagine makes a difference.
My daughter did mention she gets a lot of wind in her helmet but did not say it was an issue

Re: Pillion problem
My children go on the back a fair bit. They don't like it much without the top box (case) as they always have to hang on and cant rest easy. They prefer my Triumph Tiger 800's seat, better peg positions and the back resting top box. I had the impression from the marketing this was good for two up distances at speed. Well its clearly good for distances and great for speed but I agree its not a good pillion bike. Am pleased to hear Givi etc may be doing a top box as that will reassure them when KLCM is switched on

Re: Pillion problem
I had my 10 year old on the back for a quick ride yesterday. He will not be on again until I get a back rest or top case solution. He wasn't comfortable at all. Then I took my wife on for her 1st little ride. Still undetermined with her comfort as it was a very short ride but she's asking for the top case too. The bike was also very different in ride with her on it. I'll need to get used to that.

Re: Pillion problem
Why asking for a top case? Passenger should not lean to much to the back. A rider and passenger should actually behave like one combination just with 4 legs and 4 arms. That's the way we ride for more than 30 years together.

Re: Pillion problem
If everyone was the same and one bike fit everyone then we wouldn't be having this discussion. My wife and I have been riding together for 15 years. From my Honda 650 (with back rest) to my Bandit 1250 (with back rest) to my 2012 Concours 14 (with top case) to my 2015 Concours 14 (with top case) to my 2018 H2 SX SE (soon to be with top case). We know how to ride very well together. Maybe we ride differently than you as we are not you.Fred wrote: Fri Apr 27, 2018 2:37 pm Why asking for a top case? These were taken on the Snake in Tennessee. Ride just fine...

Re: Pillion problem
Everyone has to ride like they want. Not a discussion worth, i was just wondering why.
This bike is for us one of the best we ever had when someone asks about comfort. Perhaps we are used less comfort with our previous bikes like a couple of GSXR's.
Just enjoy the ride on the H2SX
