So is the "Lock Cylinder Set" set required, or is that only if you want them keyed the same?
A lock set is required if you want them to lock at all. A latching system is already installed in the bags and they come with a removable plastic “key” to open and close them. A screwdriver or knife blade could also be used to turn the latch so zero security without a lock set.
Here's some more info on parts needed:
- 2 - One Key System, Part # 99994-0407. MSRP $54.95
- 3 - Saddlebag Set, Fitting Kit, Part # 99994-1090. MSRP $164.95
- 4 - Color Panel Set, Part # 99994-0422. MSRP $149.95
- for 2018 SX = Metallic Carbon Gray/51A - Part # 99994-0422-51A
- for 2018 SX SE = Emerald Blaze Green/60R – Part # 99994-0422-60R
- for 2019 SE+ = Metallic Graphite Gray/45W - Part # 99994-0422-45W
- 5 - Trim Set, Part # 99994-0423. MSRP $44.95
- for SX = Metallic Carbon Gray/51A - Part # 99994-0423-51A
- for 2018 SX SE = Emerald Blaze Green/60R – Part # 99994-0423-60R
- for 2019 SE+ =Emerald Blaze Green/60R – Part # 99994-042360RA
(I don't know why this is different to SE part number when it's the same color stripe)
BTW - if you want to know what I think of the optional saddlebag liners,
check out this post.

Thanks, Champ! That's very helpful

.
As for the bag liners, I'll probably get them. I have them for my FJR and they are well worth the extra cost. Makes packing and going in and out of hotels etc super easy.

Champ87, with the seeming never ending content and data you have, I'm starting to suspect that your fund of knowledge about this bike comes from some sort of advanced alien intelligence.
