My mount is similar, although I'm using a fully hard-wired system as controlled by an Amplink module as discussed in that other thread.

I'm running a V1 with a bluetooth module. I'm using the JBV1 app for audio alerts (via earbuds), and I find the app to be superb and extremely customizable. The app provides enough audio information that I don't need a visual display.

I gave up on mounting the V1 in the false duct on the right side. A V1 almost fits into the duct. It's so close, but having pulled the nose, it looked like I'd have to cut into the headlight mount to make it fit. Mebbe a smaller detector would fit there.

My only problem is wiring it. I can plug into the 12v accessories plug but want to hard wire to something that turns off when power off. Something easy and simple to access though. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

I just take my helmet off if pulled over and put it down on the radar detector and dash to hide it during conversation.

I can't imagine traveling without my V1 and JBV1. Fuking game changing in my life.

Been surprised ONCE in 2yrs of this setup (no ticket, just didn't get a radar or CSA alert).

I'm using Brian's gopro mount/s for the detector and a 1ft phone cord to the factory 12v socket. It may not be the most elegant, but it's keeping me from talking with the revenuers.

V1 rear horn has good view unblocked by me or the bike. Amps mag mount for easy detach. I don't safety latch the V1. However, I have a clear plexiglass shield for the V1 that helps hold it and stops it from being in the wind blast.

The whole setup (sans Brian's mounts) goes into the tailbag in about a minute.

Running QL stem mount with phone for the visuals.

This pic is the best I have handy of the setup.

Well, which do you want switcheable power or easy access? To find switcheable power you'll need to remove some bodywork. To me that doesn't qualify as easy access, but you only have to do it once.

I think the best option is to connect at the accessory relay. It is located under the tank - right below the front tank bracket. Alternatively, you could also connect to the accessory socket wiring inside the nose fairing or to the license plate wiring.

I connected my radar detector to the accessory relay under the tank as shown in this post. I included a connector that, for me, is hidden but could be placed in a convenient location if I had a need to disconnect on a regular basis.

The audio warnings from the radar detector are sent to my Sena system via bluetooth so I don't need to worry about wiring to my helmet.

Funny tried connecting negative to battery and positive to the fuse box fuse in rear named accessory and nope it’s always powered. Will look at licence plate wire to tap into seems easiest.

Yes, power at the accessory fuse will be always on. It feeds to the accessory relay and one of the outputs from that relay is switched power.
On my 2018 SX SE the accessory relay is located within the frame under the front of the fuel tank.

That's how I wired mine. It's best to use the license plate light as a signal wire to power a relay or power supply..

Apologies,
I didn't get an email notice for this.
Will get more pics up today. Image shows setup from the front. Brian's gopro mount, amps mag plate, lexan guard. Runs from 12v oem socket. Using QL stem mount, vib damper, wireless charge head for phone.
Locus classic for maps-gps (split screen with JBV1).

FYI,
I have been "humbled" since my post.

Pic is for 36mph "over". Took a warning because didn't run, 55yrs old with clean 5yr record.
But I'm not "quite" as bold now.

Following 4 cars on a straight stretch as far as the eye could see. With an anticipated top speed of 180- 200kph y the time I reached the 4th car. Piece of cake

I see way off in distance a family van but plenty of runway to take flight as I pull out to pass a tiny blip in my ear from my escort redline radar detector. I cancelled the manuever and pulled back in.

The mini van passed me with a stern looking cop behinf the wheel looking at me as He passed by. I grinned thanking my faithful radar detecting saving what was sure to be an inpound and possibly jail time.

Keep in mind I only ever got the little subtle chirp, probsbly when he turned his radar on and ready to go. No visual.

Moral of the story, that little hole by the power cable plug where you plug some comfortable earbuds ( I use Sennheiser, very small and work and have lasted years) is the onky way to go and helps shuts out engine and wind noise.

Bluetooth sounds like a good idea until the battery dies or connecrion lost and the most opportune moment.

Keep it simple, i hear a beep im downshifting and hitting the brakes instantly. Keeping my eyes on the road

Also once I got a direct poer cable to the wire for licence plate light. Power turns off when bike is off.

PERFECTION
