Which Bluetooth transmitter/receiver do you use? If find that most of the intercom kits are overkill so I'm interested to hear what others use.HouTexH2SX wrote: Thu Sep 13, 2018 9:39 pm I have the same exact setup as Champ87. Unfortunately Techmount no longer makes that mount.
I plug a small Bluetooth transmitter into the headphone jack of my Beltronics Vector 995 radar detector and mount it with velcro on top. I put a small Bluetooth receiver in my inside jacket pocket with my earspeakers plugged into it.

Re: Radar Detector
I use a TaoTronics transmitter and a Motorola S705 SoundPilot receiver (not sure that the receiver is available anymore). I have Big Ear custom molded earspeakers that plug into the receiver. The set-up works great--I get about 8 hours usage out of a charge and I have a spare set that I carry with me if I run out of juice.

Re: Radar Detector
Thanks. I have some little piezo speakers mounted in the lining of my helmet. They produce enough sound to grab my attention even with earplugs. I need to find a better way to connect than the hardwired setup I've used for many years. Good to see what works for others.
On a (loosely) related note - I used to use noise reduction earplugs for listening to music while riding. For some reason I just drifted away from that. Even on long rides I really enjoy the solitude - no music, no phone, no talking to friends. Being able to enjoy the ride, the road, the scenery without distraction seems to amplify the experience. Anyone else feel that way or am I just being antisocial?

Re: Radar Detector
I've been pulled over many times on motorcycles with my radar detector in plain view. Not once has the officer said anything about it, and I almost always just get a warning.
BTW, I think I somehow manages to respond to a different post. Sorry if this seems out of context.

That's good to know. I stand corrected and am having a rethink on installing one.jjscsix wrote: Sun Sep 16, 2018 11:36 am I've been pulled over many times on motorcycles with my radar detector in plain view. Not once has the officer said anything about it, and I almost always just get a warning.

Re: Radar Detector
It all depends on the cop,New York state troopers are tough especially on route 17! Like I said,if it’s not the end of the month, and his/her quota is full,u may get lucky
PS. In the state of ny,any cop can issue a speeding ticket WITHOUT any speed measuring device! State law! Vascar, lidar, radar not needed!

Re: Radar Detector
Radar detectors are definitely not infallible. Riding around in the city they are pretty much useless if there are speed traps where laser is being used--when you hear the alert it's already too late because it was focused on you and if it wasn't you don't get an alert. However, out in the countryside on rural roads where I like to ride most LEO's just keep their K or Ka band radar turned on and very rarely are just parked on the side of the road shooting at drivers. In that case you always get an alert well in advance of even seeing them.

Re: Radar Detector
The problem with Waze, it's only good as the data that is downloaded by users. I read in Miami the police are lying like mad about their location on the map, to confuse the speeders and make them not rely on their app. No disrespect! Just telling it like it is!
The goal it said was to feed the app enough bad data to make the users no longer rely on their app. Unable to tell between a real speed trap and a very real squad car on the map!

Perhaps you can do like this guy and add laser-jamming capabilities to your H2SX..HouTexH2SX wrote: Sun Sep 16, 2018 9:34 pm Radar detectors are definitely not infallible. Much more effective at keeping your money in your pocket IMO.
I believe the video is of the jammer in parking sensor mode. but there are many more demonstrations on youtube.

Re: Radar Detector
Instead of going the Bluetooth route, has anyone tried Marc Parnes' Visual Alert?
