My MotoGP Austin Weekend.
Re: My MotoGP Austin Weekend.
We have some pretty good seats. It should be a good race tomorrow. The live in person view was better but a little wet. Lol. Wet ride back to home base but the SX SE did great in the rain. I forgot to turn the power down before rolling and never got the chance to change it but never had any issues.

Yeah it was crazy we started talking bikes and he said his son also has an H2 SX SE that he is developing flashes for. I asked who his son was and he said you. Lol did you get my email?

The 208hp with 13,000 redline one? Looking good. I had actually just showed my buddy that graph right before your dad sat down.

Re: My MotoGP Austin Weekend.
I made it home a few hours ago 2,194 miles for the trip starting on Thursday and about 2,958 miles total. I have 46 hours total on the bike bike now. The rear tire is worn out now and on the wear bars. I'm too tired to type up the details from the trip home. I'll try to write some up the next couple days and add some pictures.

Re: My MotoGP Austin Weekend.
cOoTeR - looking forward the trip report and feedback on the SX as a tourer. A bit worrying that a rear tire is only good for 3,000 miles. My last long road trip was 6,500 miles (to WSBK at Laguna Seca). Maybe I need to consider Michelin PRs as replacements because the Bridgestones clearly aren't going to cut it for the tour portion of Sports Touring.

It's amazing how fast you can go when you take your time.
Re: My MotoGP Austin Weekend.
For some reason pictures aren't working for me right now so I cant add any.
This bike definetly leans towards the Sport side of Sport Touring but everything is so smooth and light over long rides it's great for touring. It's not as comfortable of a ride as the bigger sport touring or touring bikes like the fjr, concours or goldwing, Harley etc but it takes so much less effort to ride. Initially it's not as comfortable but it doesn't wear you down as much. I've got over 46 hours of seat time on this bike and have only ridden it on 8 occasions (picked it up March 30th, rode on it April 2nd, 9th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd). That's a lot of time in the bike in that short amount of time. The 19th-23rd was around 2,194 miles. I just finished the trip yesterday and I'm ready to ride it again. I honestly think I would feel the same riding this bike for long distances as I would a more touring based model. My limitations had little to do with the bike. I wasn't really getting fatigued or cramped up riding it so I was able to use the gas stops as my breaks. When it'd be due for gas I'd stop fill it up get a drink (about every other stop) or quick snack, restroom if needed and then be ready to go. I never had an urge to just hang out taking a break beyond what was needed to get back on the road. After about 600 miles of riding I was ready to get off of the bike but when riding in a car for 600 miles I'm ready to get out. Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Monday were all 8 hours or more of riding. On a more comfort oriented bike I normally feel pretty sore after an 8 hour day let alone multiple 8hr days in a row. But today the only real sore spots I have are the base of my thumbs and the bottom of my triceps (about 2 inches above my elbow) if I straighten my arms out. Both of those spots don't even feel that sore just slightly noticeable. My upper back feels like I've done a light shoulder workout. But the rest of my body feels fine.
Gas mileage was eaten up by the 85mph+ speeds and high winds but keeping it under 85 helped. I was always putting in less gas than my friend was putting in his multistrada.
I'm pretty disappointed in the S21 tire wear. Less than 3,000 miles and I'm on the wear bars. It handled well but there were a few times I felt the front slide a little. I'm thinking of trying the pilot road 5 tires. But overall it did grip well so I can't complain too much.
The cruise control was awesome. My only complaint is it would drop 3 mph so and hold the slower speed for awhile. I also wish I could set it higher than 85mph there were A few long stretches that we were cruising over 90mph.
The performance was top notch it was a real blast powering pot off the corners.
One down side is all the attention it gets. I don't mind the curious people who have legit questions about the bike or asking my opinion of it. But the dumb questions were A little annoying like "Is it really supercharged" "Why is it supercharged" "Is it fast".
I wish there was an option to display fuel range on the sport version of the screen. I prefer the sport screen but the fuel range is needed when traveling long distances in the middle of nowhere Texas/New Mexico/Arizona. Especially with how much the MPG can fluctuate on this bike.
