Hole in triple tree, right under head bolt

I don't have a piccy of it but it's obvious if you look right under the head bolt. Anyone have an idea why it's there?

something to do with the elusive steering damper? :lol:

Actualy it's a serious question.

I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be for the steering damper. That looks similar to how the electronic one mounted to my 07 CBR.

If there are mounting points for a steering damper, then maybe a damper off another Kawasaki model might bolt right on.
