H2 SX Build Date

A Kawasaki representative at the recent Daytona Florida demo ride event (no H2SXs were available for test rides) told me that the H2SX was delayed for delivery because of one electrical component issue. The original planned release schedule to dealers was 25% in January, 25% in February, and 50% in March. As we now know, dealers didn't start receiving H2SXs until mid-late March, and many still don't have them. The build date is on the trellis frame, on the same tag as the VIN, stated as MM/YY (example: 01/18), meaning the bike started down the assembly line sometime in January of 2018. It will be interesting to see if our machines were produced months ago (October/November timeframe) and held to replace a component, or production started later (January/February) once the component was fixed. It normally only takes about 4-5 weeks from rolling of the assembly line, to arriving at our dealer.

Please list last 3-4 digits of your VIN, and your build date, and lets see what we find.

360? The local h2sx sitting on the dealership floor also has VIN #360

Label in the crate:

Serial number 250

Does it means that prod date 01/18?

Vmatti: Thank you for responding. The build date is not listed on the shipping crate. It is instead stamped on a small plate or sticker, usually attached to the frame or steering head. For the H2SX, the build date is listed on a small sticker attached to the Trellis frame, on the left side of the bike, right under the fuel tank. Your frame number is 250, meaning your bike was #250 of the green H2 SXSE bikes to come down the assembly line. Your engine number is 4439. This tells me two things: 1: Kawasaki is listing H2 SX SE (green) frame numbers separately from H2 SX (grey). 2: The engine numbers are combined between the green (SE) bikes, and the non SE (grey) bikes. Please let us know your build date when you have a chance to check.

My bike is still at my dealer, but I'll check it the next time when visiting over there.
What does number series 8-01-612 tells ?
