Odd, on the H2 the supercharger had to be inspected after 12,000km. Not at first service...

I thought the SC was maintenance free
Nothing is truly maintenance free when it comes to mechanical. BMW found that out with their supposed maint free drive line a few years back.

Motorcycling is not, of itself, inherently dangerous. It is, however, extremely unforgiving of inattention, ignorance, incompetence, or stupidity

From the H2SX Owner's Manual. The light colored magnifier icon means dealership inspection. It does show an inspection at 600 miles.

There is also a supercharger oil screen that needs to be changed out at 15K and 30K miles.

so how does it look like when they inspect supercharger impeller axial play? through diagnostic port? or opening up SC?

I'm going to guess neither. Most likely they are going to take the intake off of the supercharger and check to see if there is play in the the impeller by physically moving it around.

Haven't seen the service manual, but maybe the supercharger shaft end play can be checked form the RH side by removing the cover that that covers the drive sprocket.

I haven't seen the service manual either but I'm pretty sure the impeller shaft isn't a direct strive off of that sprocket. I'm pretty sure there is planetary gears inside the supercharger. So the impeller side would have to be where it is checked unless they open the supercharger.

The right hand cover is in direct alignment with the impeller axis, and is what the chain is driving, coming off the gear system linked to the crank.

Getting to the end of the primary impeller shaft and impeller itself on the left is pretty easy I think. It's where the air filter is. Just downstream of the end of the inlet tube, in the angular black box. Then just downstream of that is the impeller. Remove inlet duct and air filter assy and I think the impeller and end of the shaft are right there.

^^^ Yep, with the planetary gear setup it looks like you'd have to get to the supercharger from the impeller side to check axial free play.
