My wife and I rode our bikes in northern SD county for about 5 years. Lots of good roads. The road into/out of Borrego Springs that I think he was one was the Montezuma Grade. Really nice road in both directions. There is also CA 78 between Borrego Springs and Julian. Great in both directions as well. And then there is, more and more. The only thing we miss about CA!

I just watched that one and read the article a bit ago. The way that guy talks annoys me in general, I hate the way he emphasizes and stretches out the vowels. Hearing him read the grapes of wrath or whatever that was, was irritating. Lol.
Yeah, he is one of my least favorite reviewers on motorcycle.com and, unfortunately, I believe they lost Kevin Duke and the other senior guy so, my theory is that he doesn't have anyone there stopping this kind of nonsense. It's a shame that their exclusive review wasted 2 minutes on BS and then left about 60% of the rest of it as meaningless filler. I don't feel I'm more informed on the bike as they really didn't do enough comparison against competing sport touring machines.

There are some amazing roads out there but, I haven't gotten to S22 yet. It's on my list of "roads in bike reviews that look amazing that I need to go ride on". Pretty much top of my list, actually. ;-)

S1 Sunrise Highway was one of my favorites as well as Engineers Rd from near Lake Cuyamaca to CA 78.
