need help on how to install Brock's predator slip on in Toledo
howdy, I am not very mechanical, but the brocks exhaust slip on only has two bolts, easy peasy ... right? so a couple questions, 1, do i need to purchase a new exhaust gasket? (bike only has about 1300 miles) 2, should I use locktite (blue) between front section (header?) and the slip on elbow pipe? 3 & 4 - the brocks instruction pdf says: Torque muffler mounting bolt and nut to 18 lb-ft & Torque the muffler clamp to 13 lb-ft (I do have a torque wrench but don't really know how to use it) is this a deal breaker, should I take to dealer to be safe or should I just 'reasonably' snug the clamp and mounting bolt?? 5, LASTLY, what other gotchas are there in removing the stock can and replacing with the brocks slipon?? thanks mucho in advance!!!

You dont need a new gasket
Do not use loctite.
Go to the torque wrench manufacturers website and review the instructions for your torque wrench. Pretty simple to use (just dont confuse foot-pounds with inch-pounds, inch pounds are for far less torque.) Most wrenches are the same, tighten until you hear a click.
Removing the oEM muffler is pretty simple, a clamp bolt, a socket head screw for the heat shield, and the larger nut/bolt on the pass peg hanger.

thanks Cool
ok, no loctite, no new gasket. no gotchas or insights I need to know ahead of time? just curious, how would 13 lb ft feel if one did not have a torque wrench. I have seen a lot of mechanics who do this by feel only ... always wondered how wise it was. .. especially with the oil drain plub. (just an example)

I follow the MI band "Magic Bus" - tribute band to the Woodstock era. Do you ever go to Ann Arbor, Toledo, Bowling Green, ?? Maybe we can hook up for a ride. do you have the flash already?
