Cornering Lamps Retrofit to H2SX?

Post by CoolDaddyGroove » Tue Sep 10, 2019 3:25 am

Was going down the rabbit hole looking for DRL's to mount to the front fender when a friend asked "why not buy the cornering lights from the SE and connect them so they are always on?"

Interesting way of making myself more visible on the road. Anyone smart enough to figure this out?

My only concern would be the draw on the electrical system, but then again, they are LED's

No one has come up with an "always on" solution as of yet.. the cornering lights have their own built in ECU and can't simply be turned on by providing them with 12V

Not to mention, they would be blinding to other drivers, so I think it could be a good idea if they could only be switched on when the high beams are switched on.

And BTW, I'm pretty sure I've seen you somewhere on the internets before.. riderforums perhaps?

I'm understanding the OP wanting just to install and make them work.

As JontheChron points out they are integrated into the system, and have their own 'system'

I'd think as long as the method for a direct relayed hot to the, or each light, it'd be a go, but you'd need to figure out how to go around/remove the built in ECU. In addition to that I think the more technical task would be cleanly mounting on a bike that didn't have them to begin with.
