Please, if you have a spieglerusa.com/LSL riser/handlebar conversion, would you share you thoughts/assessment on the mod?

Thanks.

I haven't got any experience with the H2SX kit as I don't even own one yet - still waiting to sell my other bikes before I can drop the cash... but I have had kits fitted to previous bikes - TL1000R, ZX14R and ZX10R.

PROS
Installation is relatively easy, quality is good and the results are excellent - for me. I am 6"5 and most bike have me hunched over so the raised position is great for my back and posture on longer rides. I prefer the feeling of wider bars over clipons and can confidently ride faster through the bends. The kit comes with extended clutch cable and brake lines, with mounting hardware for reservoirs etc wherever necessary. Instructions have tips for how to route wiring so as no to stress it on full lock turns. The top clamp is beautifully machined.

CONS
The instructions are in German so you'll spend a while typing them into google translate in order to fully understand them. The ends come very close to (or just touch) the windscreen on full lock turns which can be an issue at low speeds, but this can be adjusted. Also, the upright position changes your centre of gravity and weight placement rearwards, so it can increase the tendency to wheelie a bit more (I have to be quite careful on the ZX10R - no traction control). The only other gripe is that the ignition barrel bolts can be a bastard to remove. You'll need patience and a steady hand with the drill. Clearance when lane splitting is reduced but this is an issue with any bike that has wider bars.

Once I finally get my hands on a H2SX, this will be one of the first mods I would consider.

Cheers,

PB

Patrick Bateman,

Thank you for the 'hands on' user knowhow. Good things to consider.
