Re: Quiet aftermarket muffler
The Yosh slipon is very nice. Light, stays relatively cool (carbon version). Works perfect with panniers. Also, at normal RPM it's fairly quiet, but growls quite nicely when you get heavy on the throttle.
I recommend it.

So far I'm trying to rule out stock, it's quiet level is perfect, secondarily thinking the Yoshi next, or third Vandemon.UFO wrote: Mon Aug 05, 2019 1:22 am The Yosh slipon is very nice. Re: Quiet aftermarket muffler
I went through the same thing, was concerned about volume. But that stock can simply ruins the looks of an otherwise gorgeous bike. I was surprised how quiet the Yoshi exhaust was even without the low volume insert. Didn't even need to wind up using it.Prof J wrote: Mon Aug 05, 2019 8:57 am So far I'm trying to rule out stock, it's quiet level is perfect, secondarily thinking the Yoshi next, or third Vandemon.

Re: Quiet aftermarket muffler
I can add to this now that I finally got around to installing the Vcyclenut full system kit I bought a few months back. Noise level was a major concern for me. On long journeys I'd find a noisy exhaust tiring and on shorter trips I just don't see the need to shout about my presence.Prof J wrote: Thu Aug 01, 2019 5:56 pmI'm wondering what users of aftermarket cans think are the more 'quieter' cans?
David said in one of his posts that this setup wasn't noisy, but he does spend a lot of time ragging bikes on the dyno so probably has a different concept of noise. Still, I took his word as good and went with his system. With the original cat box removed, I expected slightly more noise but I was really pleased when I first fired it up in my workshop. With the dB killer in place, it doesn't seem any louder than the stock silencer.
Out on the road, wearing earplugs, I don't hear the exhaust much. I can hear it when accelerating hard at lower speeds but, as speed increases, engine noise and wind noise are more noticeable than the exhaust. I got a better-looking system, a good weight saving and no extra noise.

Champ87, are you running your Woolich hardware setup with David's map for the new setup (yet)?

Re: Quiet aftermarket muffler
Not yet. I have Vcyclenut's flash for the OEM exhaust with Sprint filter but I haven't sent him my ECU to reflash for this new setup. A couple of times I've wound it on through the lower gears but I'm resisting the temptation to make it work hard until I get the mapping updated.Prof J wrote: Tue Aug 27, 2019 3:48 am Champ87, are you running your Woolich hardware setup with David's map for the new setup (yet)?

Re: Quiet aftermarket muffler
I bellied up to the bar and David is sending his exhaust setup. Hope to get into that install, and a few others requiring skins off, maybe in Oct-Nov.
Weather here has been providing a very gentle summer, largely in the 80's - (it feels like our place in CostaRica on the mountain - pura vida), as compared to the three previous summers, largely in the 90s- low 100's, and almost no clouds for those summers - and not a drop of rain from May'ish to Sept/Oct.
This year thunder, hail, and lightening storms, decreased temps (that's good) , and the weeks temp averages pinging going from the 60's days, to 80's. Folks here for a number of decades say temps are what it use to be, minus the storms, rain and clouds.

Smart move. You won't be disappointed.Prof J wrote: Sat Sep 07, 2019 5:59 pm I bellied up to the bar and David is sending his exhaust setup.
I'm planning to post up a Champ87 guide from my install. It's an easy task but, since most jobs we do on these bikes is a first time, you may find it helpful to look through and prepare. I also installed block off plates and that took more time than the exhaust swap.
I'm off now for a quiet ride.
