Not upshifting properly
Had a new issue last night. I haven't rode in a week but I doubt that would cause this issue. Bike has 2k miles. First oil change done on time with Amsoil and stock filter.
Engine fully warm, always using quick shift since new (love it), pulled away from a stop sign. Normal clutch release into 1st, quick shift into 2nd around 4-5k rpm, then it would not shift into 3rd at same rpm. The QS operated properly (I assume) as it killed the rpms but the trans would go into gear. Tried twice before i grabbed the clutch and then it still fought me. Then 3rd into 4th worked fine using QS. For maybe 3 miles until i got to my destination, i had to use the clutch to get into 3rd. Downshifting had zero issues.
When heading home, bike fully warm, pulled away from a light, 1st to 2nd was fine, 2nd to 3rd was fine, but 3rd to 4th wouldn't go. Downshifting was unaffected. I never went above 4th as I was just tooling around town.
This morning I checked oil level, spot on. Checked shift lever, everything was tight with the same amount of play in the hinge as when it was new new.

Re: Not upshifting properly
There should be some amount of significant acceleration mid rpm and above, throttle open and speed firmly climbing, not just lower rpm maintenance throttle. Same for downshift, throttle closed and decelerating. It's not meant for lazy shifting. Try being a little more aggressive on the throttle and deliberate when accelerating. It's not meant for low rpm, soft cruising, or full time use.
I used to speed shift before it was "a thing" by lifting up on the shift lever and briefly closing the throttle, would clutchlessly upshift into the next cog. In fact I still do this on my dirt bikes.
When riding relaxed, make slower low rpm shifts, complete the shift and use the clutch to be gentle, avoid the lurch.

Re: Not upshifting properly
So I just went for a little run. It's 100% intermittent. 2nd to 3rd happened at 5k. So then I tried to mess with it at different throttle positions and different rpms but couldn't force it to happen. Then came around a curve and bastard did it again. 2nd to 3rd, little more than 1/3 throttle and right around 5k rpm. I'll do some more aggressive riding during my errands today and repost.

Re: Not upshifting properly
Not to hijack, but quick anecdote from me, two times I have hit a "false neutral" between 2-3 or 3-4, where the gear indicator blanked out, lost forward drive, and when I touched the shifter while rolling it went into 1st revving the engine. Both times it happened after using the quickshifter under light load. But it seems fine under firm acceleration. If it happens again I'm going to coast to a stop and shut it down before clicking it into a gear or neutral. I actually seem to recall something like this happening on my S1000rr as well, and I think it comes down to the fact that the toe shifter is still the one doing the gear change, the quickshifter is just briefly cutting out the engine. If not deliberate when making the shift, there is a narrow spot where the shift dogs don't engage fully. After that, a small bump or curve in your case, it backs out, or never engaged. That said, for sure you don't want to be so forceful on the toe shifter that a fork or ring bends or grinds. For me it all seems easier when using the quickshifter more deliberately, accompanied with more forceful acceleration to lock-in the gears, seems never a problem then. But using the quickshifter to bang the gears is naturally going to accumulate more wear and tear that probably never gets better, than using the clutch which is a cushion.

Re: Not upshifting properly
Stop #3 on the day, I was more aggressive in shifting but still had the intermittent no shift between 2-3. Found when I let off the throttle, then roll back on, the shift will work just fine. More testing to come...

Re: Not upshifting properly
I would think that is better news than having it the other way around. Seems like it needs a longer cut, but not sure why it would only affect 2-3 shift. Might it be as simple as adjusting the quick shifter length? Have you downloaded the service manual? I wonder if the timing/actuation of the cut is affected by the adjustment length of the quick shifter?

Re: Not upshifting properly
Mine was hesitating to shift at times as well awhile after I installed knight lowering pegs.
I ending up taking the shifter lever off and re greasing it and all is well again. Give that a shot ;)

Re: Not upshifting properly
I bought the service manual. I like having a book in front of me instead of electronics. just personal preference. Anyway, I have ridden the bike the exact same way from day one so why all of a sudden the shifting was funky now still confuses me. But still, I shortened up the shift rod half a turn and that seemed to help. Couldn't make it mis-shift or anything. Thought it might be a mental thing so I adjusted the rod back to where it was and went for a other run around the block with no issues. I would hate to think it's operator error from not riding for 1 week. I'm done for today. Will ride to work tomorrow and see if it happens again. Thanks for your ideas

Re: Not upshifting properly
I would think try riding using purely manual shifting without the shifter and see if you can replicate rather than throwing it in at random or after it's already acting up w/ qs. Just to eliminate possibilities.

Re: Not upshifting properly
Have you turned off the QS and rode it normally using the clutch, then turn QS back on
