That's like saying I towed a trailer behind my race car.

Re: Why not a Top Case?
This is why I won't be adding a top case, even though I've got a factory top case for my Versys and would only need new color panels and a bracket. As I said up thread, the Versys has much more steel at the back of the frame to support the case under load.

Re: Why not a Top Case?
The Givi setup will work with std side cases. You need the arms and the plate that attaches to the underside of the rear tray and you're good to go.
I ended up buying the one from webike but my research showed Givi would work with the std panniers.

Re: Why not a Top Case?
Thanks Racer-X. The webike setup is so expensive... I’m going to buy the Givi 4123fz.
Thanks again.

Re: Why not a Top Case?
No problem pikines ... the webike setup is quite expensive you're right. What won it for me was that it sits the top case quite a bit more forward than the Givi setup. You can move the plate back and forth so I've moved it so the front of the case actually sits over the back seat a little. My wife likes to sit quite far forward so plenty of room. The rack itself is also much sturdier and easier to get on and off without leaving plates etc attached to the bike ... I only have it on when we're going on a road trip (mainly so I can carry a laptop). The side cases are plenty for the occasional shopping run.

Thank you for your opinion. My wife need rest her back on topcase, is not for space.

Re: Why not a Top Case?
This is my setup ... the side on view shows how much further forward it sits. If your better half uses it as a backrest I'd suggest the webike over the Givi. There is a gentleman on here that has had the Givi brackets break twice.
