Why not a Top Case?

I never did like how the Givi placed the rear rack so far back. As I use it only to have a bag there with bungees and not top case it was little bit difficult. I now (that snow and winter has landed to Finland) started to look it and I've decided to drill new holes to the top plate (I have aluminium Givi Trekker rack M8B) and the rear rack and cut extra metal from back of. That way I can position the plate about 10cm (4") forward. Will be better for balance and also for looks. I'll post pictures when I'm ready. Looks quite straight forward solution.

So basically was able to move it about 10cm (4") forward. Had to change the orientation of the plat form original that is getting smaller in back to other way so it is coming wider at the end. Also added new holes to the plate to attach as close as possible. Now I think it will be much better to attach my waterproof bag when travelling. Also better for COG. When I'm able to get the bike out from carage I'll see how it looks in a better picture. If I find better looking top plate might go for that in future, but it is good also as is.

Nice work! This is precisely the reason I bought the webike rack instead of the givi ... it sits further forward and I also thought it looked a little more sturdy.
