Cool setup, is that a Kawasaki top case, what was the cost and where did you purchase it. How much stuff can you put in it?

Re: Why not a Top Case?
On webike I'm only seeing Givi branded racks. Is your rack discontinued?

Re: Why not a Top Case?
And then a Monokey plate. Did the holes in the rack match up to the Monokey, or did you need to drill new one?Racer-X wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2020 10:16 pmThis is the one --> https://www.japan-webike.nl/products/23829277.html
I'm not seeing anything that looks like it slides. So I'm guessing the relative position of the case (forward) is due to how forward the Monokey is mounted on the cross bars...
Thanks!

Indeed the plate is "adjustable" in terms of being able to move it back and forth. I just used the universal give plate like this one (no drilling required) ... https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorc ... rod/206858

Re: Why not a Top Case?
Although I don't have a top case, I did purchase a set of Givi V37 side cases for my previous bike (a ZZR1200), and I will be mounting the V37s on the H2 SX. My Givi racks will accept a top case, but my preference is to just use a big dry bag strapped across the passenger seat... I only ride solo on long trips. I'll post some pics up once I get them mounted.

Re: Why not a Top Case?
I considered using Givi panniers because the std ones have a weird shape which makes them a bit difficult (at least they're pretty!) but am turned off by all the mounting hardware. The std ones are so easy to fit/remove without the addition of racks.

Re: Why not a Top Case?
Although I haven't installed the Givi racks yet, I am surprised at how heavy they are... guessing maybe 8kg! This is a long trip touring bike for me, so I don't care so much about the weight, and I won't carry a passenger so I won't be overloaded by any stretch.
