Speedo Calibration

Post by jazzster » Sat Jul 06, 2019 2:02 pm

As with almost every new bike, the speedo on my H2SX shows faster than I am actually travelling. After testing with GPS it is about 6% high. I have used Power Vision in the past to calibrate other bikes, is there a setting in the ECU that can be adjusted? (planning on flashing it soon anyway).......

thanks,

Not that I'm aware of.

On my Triumph Sprint speed was taken at the output sprocket so changing gearing would affect speedo readings. The bike was intentionally programmed with 6% error at the factory. Fortunately, it was easy to change in software. One problem though, changing the speedo accuracy also affected the odometer and trip computer. That was very accurate to begin with. I left the speedo alone, preferring to have an accurate mileage/fuel range readings from the trip computer.

For the H2 SX speed is taken from wheel speed sensor(s) and not affected when you change gearing. Checking my speed against GPS showed only 3% difference (164 vs. 158 mph GPS). Reciprocal got a similar reading (97.282%) checking his bike against GPS.

It's amazing how fast you can go when you take your time.
