Hi Everyone,
For past few days i am noticing that my bike fluctuates RPM in Idle and low speed in 1st gear in the traffic. It feels like hard breathing like someone climbing high mountain with a low stamina.
Has anyone experienced that? Is that normal or is there any problem which needs a service engineer to look at it?
Please suggest
Thanks and Regards

unless its affecting your riding I would not worry about it,
EBC being on low can make the idle bounce if your moving at all

Pretty sure it’s part of the map, I’ve noticed that any movement, back or forward of the rear wheel increases the Revs slightly, all modern vehicles seem to do this, and I think it’s part of helping you to pull away cleanly when starting off.. I can rock mine back and forward in neutral while running and make the Revs rise and fall..

What are the rpms that it is idling at and bouncing up to? That will help see if there is an actual issue or not. Most likely it is normal though.

It is not affecting my riding so far, so as you say it’s nothing to worry about.

mine has always done it , when at full temp the bike will tick over at around 1700 revs , then drop to around 1100 , makes no difference if I move the bike back and forth , was annoying at first but now I am used to it , I would be happier if it ticked over at 1000 and stayed there , this was one of the things that put me off this bike the first test ride I had , it seemed like it was hunting for fuel . but the bike is first class when you get the revs up I wouldn't worry about it .

I’ve just been out for a test run with my new exhaust fitted, it’s a zx10 header with a 3/4 arrow system. I haven’t had it mapped yet, that’s next week, but as cruised up to the lights I pulled the clutch to coast the last few yards and the idle was fluctuating between 1500 and 2500 rpm. I’m guessing because the fuelling is a bit weak, have you got an aftermarket exhaust fitted? Maybe it needs mapping.
