Re: So my bike was delivered last week . . .
Every new bike I've purchased only had between 3 and five miles on the odometer. If they delivered your bike with 35 miles on the clock someone took it for a joy ride, they let another customer test ride your bike or the deliver guy did more with your bike than throw it on the trailer. While 35 miles isn't much it's still totally unacceptable considering there was only 1 mile at the time of purchase

The dealership called this morning. One of the managers said he had 'tracked' what happened to the mileage question/issue, and offered that the extra miles, beyond 1 mile, were actually on the bike already, but that one of the staff had forgotten to do a reset on the trip odometer. He was unable to state when those extra miles were actually put on the bike, but did confirm they take copies of licenses, etc, for folks who go out on a test rides, as had been the case with this bike.
I did ask for him to research the time frame of the miles, since I had been in over 3 weeks earlier, and committed to purchasing, and they committed to selling it to me, and taking it off the internet site sale listing, and off the floor as well, both of which I had to call them a few times to 'remind' them to do for a week, as those things were somehow forgotten.
The gentleman offered that they don't sell new bikes as 'used', unless they have several hundred miles on them. I do note that on their web site, I have seen three bikes, 'pre-owned'/used, as follows:
2016 OSET 16 R - 1 mile
2017 Husqvarna® FC 450 - 68 miles
2017 Honda® VFR1200X - 3 miles
They have a bunch of used/pre owned, not showing the mileage, some 2018/2019 bikes, various models.
The gentleman has offered to perform the first 600 miles service with no charge. He also offered to have one of the service people 'look it over'.
I'm not interested in making this thing bigger than it 'should' be, what ever that means.
This will likely be my last bike. Well, at least my Sweetie might give her blessings, at any rate.

I would take the service offer and call it a day. These bike are over engineered. I know plenty of folks that ride their bikes like they stole them right off the showroom floor with no issues. Not to mention I myself can’t even get a new bike home without going over kawi’s suggested rpm limits.

I tend to agree. I am a lawyer and I tend to think any litigation would cost you more time, money and aggravation than any favorable potential outcome would compensate you for.PhukDD wrote: Wed Jun 19, 2019 4:57 pm I would take the service offer and call it a day. If they used the bike to let people demo on it, it is a USED bike. You paid for a new bike not a used one. The first service averages around $300 in the high end I think. Are you really going to trust a dealership that lied to you about the bikes mileage to service the bike?

If they can’t even get the thing off the internet I wouldn’t trust them to do a service! Lol

I agree. One of the reasons why I'm doing my own 7,600 mi check (which is similar to the 600 mi check) is that my old Kawi dealer admitted to me that they weren't doing the checks specified by Kawi. Essentially, they were checking the obvious items. If I were you, I'd ask to see a checklist of the items they checked when you brought it in for its 600 mi service.Bryan468 wrote: Wed Jun 19, 2019 6:32 pm If they can’t even get the thing off the internet I wouldn’t trust them to do a service! Like you, I would have been bent to discover that someone might have been winding out a bike I planned on babying for the first 1,000 miles. On the other hand, I bought mine at a discount with the knowledge that it had 65 miles on the clock, and I think PhukDD is right. In the end, it prolly doesn't matter much.

Re: So my bike was delivered last week . . .
So I learned from a followup call this morning to me from another dealership manager that the bike has been out on the floor for a year, ostensibly for use as a demo bike, but for some reason, at least when I first saw the bike, it was kept on the 1 mile trip odometer during those three weeks I had connection to it.
No one seems to know how many demo rides were taken, or by who, as they advised they destroy the 'trial' riders copied drivers license the same day as the ride, therefor no record at all, for the entire year on the floor.
Who's supervising the line sales persons to make sure they show the bike with 'open' records/information, so a buyer is able to have sufficient, accurate information of the vehicle to make an informed decision (informed consent), which is, I think, a basic requirement for contractual consent. It seems to me that they misrepresented this bike, perhaps knowingly, or at a minimum, that they 'should' have reasonably known the bikes condition, but never the less failed.

Though I don't know they'd agree, I'm thinking of two options:
1. They exchange the bike with a same year/model, with about a mile, or
2. They pay for the 600 mile checkup, and comp me a new helmet of my choice.
