Was excited when the lowering links arrived, until

Post by Prof J » Sat Jun 15, 2019 12:15 am

Yeah, I ordered a set of lowering links from Britton, LustRacing. I was excited when the lowering links arrived, until I checked them against what's on the bike.

These lowering links are the exact same size as what's on the bike, which has not been ridden yet. I've been searching for a U.S. set, and at the time did not find a U.S. set.

Is anyone familiar with the bolt size the lowering links would attach to? I can probably make up a set myself.

On my zx14 I had a set of the adjustable eyelet links. I haven’t looked at what style we have on the h2 sx yet, but would something like that work?

Hey Bryan468, unless I make my own, I think that is what I'll have to go to. As long as it fits and does it's lowering job, they don't have to win a beauty contest. Brocks has a sort of an adjustable set.

To me it seems a lowering link would be shorter. I don't recall any longer.

As I look at the geometry, maybe they have to be longer?

I’ve only lowered one bike and I went with that style because I knew I could fine tune the ride height better with them rather than a set with a few holes for adjustment.

Have you figured something out for your kick stand?

Yes,I just cut the foot off, then remove the leg length, weld the foot back on, and paint. With morning coffee and two coats, about an hour, counting for a little dry time between the coats.

I just ordered the Brock lowering set. Shouldn't be long before I can get on the bike . . . and go. Lots of beautiful country roads here in Oregon.

I have the Brocks adjustable kickstand. Unfortunately it is now a fixed stand because the bottom half bent under the weight of the bike and will not go in any further.

This will save you some headache when out comes time to install the links.

So I did find an adjustable set yesterday evening, from Brocks.
