danham

Excellent article ( and great for a morning coffee read). Thanks for sharing that article. I'll need to read it a few times and hope something makes it across my brains bridge to the long term memory area, named "What Was That Again?"

I own the the SE. ...

OH, and the ONE FLAW the SX has:

Why the f*ck was it not possible to show the heated grips on the TFT????????
I always have to look down several seconds to see the mode I'm in.
This is dangerous and stupidly designed!
Excellent observation. I'd think Kawasaki could use that one.

The plus model was 8K+ higher than the 2018 EX, and that is what I went with.
Did you get the SX or the SX SE? If you paid $17K for the SX SE you got a heck of a deal at $5K off MSRP. You get a lot of nice features for the $3K price difference between the SX and the SX SE. Well worth it IMHO.

I did 500 miles in cold rain today & quickly came to HATE the grip control. My BMW had a simple 23-position switch: low, high, off.

HouTexH2SX ,

I got an '18 SE at 17K. The '19 SE plus was a firm 25K. You know, for a few years, I'll sit on the beautiful '18 SE, and if I'm still physically able in some years ahead, I may pickup the XX year, SE + Version 5.

I haven't ridden the bike yet. The seat is a the shop being redone, saddle height lowered a bit. The lowering links have not arrived yet, either. This bike is taller than my 14 by about 1 1/2", and I had to lower that bike, as well, with lowering links and a Corbin seat. As it is, stock height, I can just touch the ground with the toe tip of my boot, on even ground.

I'm getting itchy to take it out.

Definitely a good idea to get the seat fixed before you even ride--it was very uncomfortable for me after about 40 miles so I had Sargent modify it. Enjoy your new toy. The SE+ is definitely not worth the extra $8K--good decision plus the green is a fantastic color. I get so many looks on this bike. I also had to change out that hideous stock can to the carbon Yoshimura Alpha--it really compliments the bike.

HouTexH2SX,

Do you have, or are you planning on a custom map after you change the can?

No, I'm just leaving it stock--already has more power than my capabilities! I also don't keep my bikes more than 2-3 years so I don't want to risk voiding the warranty for resale.
