intercooler testing done

Post by vcyclenut » Wed May 29, 2019 8:54 pm

First I want to thank Travis at Yager Werx for his great customer service and product , he can be contacted on face book

Last week I installed his intercooler kit on my h2sx and today I got to test it. All I can say is WOW!

My previous best run with my H2sx was 235 hp. It was 30 degrees cooler and around 6% less humidity then today so when I did my baseline I started at 220 hp. ( comparison run with conditions attached)

after tuning with the intercooler I achieved a new personal best 240 hp! Despite the miserable conditions. The other crazy impressive thing was how I was able to do many runs back to back with no drop off. Try that without the intercooler. My intake temps used to hit 190 degrees after a run. Today I never saw temps over 140. Remember this is sitting still on a Dyno with just cooling fans running.

Riding down the road it will be even more dramatic. I could not be happier with the results

obviously I will have mail in tunes available for the intercooler set up, what I learned with tuning on it today I could easily apply to any of my baseline tunes pre intercooler.

one of the other really cool things the intercooler did was allow me to run my RICHER air/fuel ratio with no drop off in power. With out the intercooler the bike will make more power on the dyno by leaning it out to air fuel ratio's that I would never a tune a boosted bike to, now it makes as much power at the safe proper air fuel as it does at the let me impress my friends air/fuel ratio.

BTW travis found all of these things when he tuned the h2sx he did the first install on. I sent him a base file to use to start tuning with. He thought it was a little rich for best power but ended up my fueling was right on. It is the cooler intake temps that allow for more aggressive timing numbers that give the gains.

VERY COOL!

I highly recommend this if your going to be running your bike hard , not just for the power gains but for the reliability it is going to have to add to the bike.

Very nice!

Now that we know it works I’m curious to know when we will have the opportunity to buy the set up and how much it will cost.

That seems like a fair price. Will he have kits ready to go? Will we have to send him our intake?

Travis makes kits as they come in or are ordered. They require the top half of the plenum to be sent to him for retrofitting of the exchanger core, the plumbing, the reservoir/pump, etc, etc, etc. Your OEM top half of the plenum will be cut and modified and resealed and it will be sent back along with the rest of the needed items. Very good setup. This is the exact same setup I am putting in my 2019 H2 once he tells me he has my parts :)
