H2 SX SE seat part no and compatibility with zx10

Post by GT550 » Mon May 27, 2019 11:41 pm

howdy all. I noticed the zx10 seat part no is similar to sx se - part no 53066. anybody have experience with this. My thought is if I eventually send my seat off to sargeant or russell day long --- would be nice to have a cheap (er) seat to send off. if the plastic base is the same, would work well. Also, there is the Saddleman seat for the zx 10 that gets good reviews ....

Based on the ZX10 parts diagram, the ZX-10 front seat looks little like the SX SE seat. The listed part number is 53066-0521. My SX SE front seat has four part numbers molded into the seat base: 0595, 0597, 0596, and 0592. "0592" is painted on the seat base which I presume indicates the correct part number for the front seat assembly. To summarize, while I agree it would be nice to have two seats for the reason you mention, I don't think the ZX-10 is a compatible donor.

The seats are not going to be compatible. The ZX10R seat bolts on the H2 SX SE seat is secured by the rear seat.

Seems like a good opportunity to link to the shared parts list I posted up last year. The list compares part numbers for SX, SE, H2, H2R, ZX10R and Ninja 1000. The list shows parts that are shared between models - the intent was to help when selecting aftermarket parts or even used parts off eBay. I haven't updated to include SE+

Of course, there are many parts that have different part numbers but will still fit or can be made to fit. I didn't get into that - the list was a simple comparison of OEM part numbers. Those numbers can change for something as simple as a color variation.

H2 SX SE shared parts - zip file containing pdf and excel versions of list.
