Vibrations in the handlebars

Post by Gadus » Wed May 15, 2019 8:43 am

When I engage the cc and remove my hands from the handlebar there is a vibration in the handlebars. This is very annoying. I am on my third set of tires, and all have been the same. The dealer has checked the balancing and it is perfect. I rode a 2019 demo bike two weeks ago, and it was 100% steady. No vibrations at all.

Now the dealer think it's maybe something wrong with the braking discs, but I doubt it. When I slightly pull the brake lever, I can not feel anything wrong.

Anyone who has experienced this?

check for play in the steering head bearings. Hold the front brake and pump the forks up and down. If there's any play or looseness you will feel a slight knocking in the steering head as you pump the front forks.

this can cause front end vibration and wobble

I agree. Vcyclenut did a write up about a loose steering stem fix.

That's what I thought too. I mentioned play in the steering head bearings at the dealer, but they did not want to check that out, because they did not think it caused the problem.

I will check by pumping the fork. Thanks for your advice!

Don't you think that it can be simply a broken bolt?
