Auxiliary lighting for the H2SXSE
Is anyone running auxiliary lighting on their H2SX or is there a way to keep the lean angle lights illuminated? I believe auxiliary lighting helps make you more visible to oncoming traffic so it would be a good accessory to add to any bike in my opinion. Thanks

I respectfully disagree. Lights on my bike SE+ are stupid bright. I actually feel bad for people ahead of me or going opposite direction. And I’ve never used my high beam. I know for certain there’s no issues seeing me. Plus I like the cornering lights flashing on and off when warming up tires or taking turns.

Weaving back and forth, especially on the street does barely anything to warm the tires up. You will get much better warmth from hard acceleration and hard braking.Raddy47 wrote: Sun Apr 28, 2019 7:59 pm I respectfully disagree. Lights on my bike SE+ are stupid bright. I'm OK with the cornering lights operating as intended I just think it would be a good idea if they also remained illuminated to serve as auxiliary lighting. The headlights on my BMW K16GTLE are super bright also but the auxiliary lights at the bottom of the fairing aid in helping on coming traffic see you a bit better.Raddy47 wrote: Sun Apr 28, 2019 7:59 pm I respectfully disagree. Yea I’ve seen a lot of gold wings and GS style bikes wit them. Definitely helps visibility on the bike in day time I have noticed.wellcraft wrote: Mon Apr 29, 2019 1:10 amI'm OK with the cornering lights operating as intended I just think it would be a good idea if they also remained illuminated to serve as auxiliary lighting. Running the cornering lights full time, even if possible, would be a horrible idea. The angles are all wrong. They are designed to point at the road ahead when leaning, meaning they would point into the air if on while straight up.wellcraft wrote: Sun Apr 28, 2019 7:03 pm Is anyone running auxiliary lighting on their H2SX or is there a way to keep the lean angle lights illuminated? I too am curious about these lights,
Regardless if it’s a good or bad idea, can it be done?
Is there a way to put the cornering lights on a on/off switch like fog lights? Can they be re programmed ? Or re wired to run all three bulbs on a toggle switch.
Thanks

I'd rather have the turn signals illuminated with maybe 6V so you can differentiate between position light and turn signal indicator. Like on the latest fireblade and africa twin. Just so that the silhouette of the bike gets noticably larger.

High lean & high speed!

If I were wanting those lights on, let's say all the time, wellcraft wrote: Sun Apr 28, 2019 7:03 pm Is anyone running auxiliary lighting on their H2SX or is there a way to keep the lean angle lights illuminated?

1. I'd look for another accessory/light that is on all the time, say a headlight and find it's 'hot' lead in the wiring connector, and slide that wires pin lead out of the connector, and solder a thin wire to use as a jumper to the relay trigger
2. I'd then use a relay, and have the headlight 'hot' be the trigger so when the bike starts up, your other lights of interest, also come on.
3. You'd need to have a power lead from the battery to the relay, so when the relay is triggered the power comes from your battery, and not overload your headlight fuse. Maybe the lights you'er talking about don't use much energy, you can always check if you need to run a hot wire from your battery, or just the hot from the headlights to also power the lights you'er talking about.
I haven't looked at the bikes wiring, so I don't know what level of PITA it would be to get to the harness connector, etc.
There are a number of ways you can use a relay to do what you want.

Re: Auxiliary lighting for the H2SXSE
You guys have to realize that the light are controlled by the IMU. and not a simple switch, it's more complicated than you think, the left light controls the right one.
