Service reminder

Post by PaulieG » Sat Apr 27, 2019 6:42 pm

Does any one know how to get rid of the service reminder? My dealer didn't reset it at my 600 mile service and when I brought it back to them they said they have to call Kawasaki to ask how to do it... Ugg I'd rather do it myself if possible.
Thanks

Good Question, I plan on doing my own oil changes, so that would be great to know.

It looks like the procedure you're looking for is on section 17-12 of the service manual. Doing the procedure manually looks like a pain.

Are you sure that procedure is for the Service reminder and not for error codes stored in the ECU? My dealer is going to call Kawasaki on Monday. I'll update the thread if I learn anything.

Nope, not sure, Paulie. It was the only section in the manual I could find that had any instructions for manually clearing of codes. Waiting to hear from Kawi is a better idea.

Is this for the SX SE + only? I haven't seen this yet on my SX SE and I'm @ 5K

Hold down right button on throttle side to get to main menu then go to service then down to oil change and if it’s on select and change to off. These are steps for SE+ not sure if same procedure for other models. Probably same. I would leave it on but change the service interval to the next service in miles so you get the on board reminder.

I'm pretty sure that's not part of the menu on the SE, interesting.

The SE SX has got no service reminder.
At least I never saw and read anything about it.

Ah... I'm going to go out to the parking log at lunch and try this! Stay tuned...
