Hi group,
I purchased my 2018 H2 SX SE from a local Kawasaki dealership about 2 months ago as a leftover unit at a discounted price. The salesman even remembered me as a previous customer, as I had bought a Ninja 300 from him a couple of years ago.
I really like my H2 and would be interested in adding the Kawasaki panniers, making the bike more useful for errands (I don't really travel all that much). Being a repeat customer, are there any deals to be made on the panniers? I would love to stick with the same dealership but, at the same time, would hate to be gouged. Just curious what any thoughts and ideas are. What is a good price on these? Or if you've bought them and you think they're no good or cause issues.
On the topic of pricing... I just switched from Progressive to Allstate. I had an Aprila Tuono and a Victory Judge with Allstate at pretty good rates. When I traded in both bikes on the H2 SX SE, the insurance rate went through the roof! I raised the deductibles to make it affordable but started shopping a bit. I'm 46, married, no accidents, no tickets (yet but I fear that will change!!). I looked at Allstate and truly couldn't believe the rate. Fearing it was too good to be true, I bought the policy and kept the Progressive until truly confirmed. But yes, a huge ($1400 annual) savings. Interesting and something to think about. Except now I really fear tickets!!!!

Ebay has the KQR bags away half the price of retail. Show your dealer their price and start negotiating.

The bags are also cheaper if you get them from a European source. Plus, they come without the reflector.

Re: Pricing on panniers
Thanks a lot!!! I just ordered the bags. The price was $566 with shipping which is both a savings and it avoids the reflector (wasn't a big deal but certainly looks better w/o). I'll need to order the other items like the color panels and the mounting and locking hardware. Should I order online (eBay or amazon) or use my dealer?Burmashave wrote: Thu Apr 04, 2019 4:30 pm The bags are also cheaper if you get them from a European source. Upstate NY? What area? I'm from the Kingston area and moved out to AZ in the late 90's. Too much of that white powdered stuff in the winter (and no, not cocaine!).

Re: Pricing on panniers
I'm near Binghamton. Yup, the winters suck. On the other hand, I'm spoiled with great rides in all directions once the roads are cleared off.
As for the ordering, to me, it depends on how much you like your dealership. I like my local dealer and want to throw him business, but he's over an hour away, so it's usually too much of a hassle to get parts from him. I've been getting parts from Partzilla, but they still don't have last years Kawi's on file. http://kawasakipartshouse.com/ has been good as well.
There's information somewhere about how to set the lock cylinders. Lemme know if you can't find it, or if it's not referenced somewhere in the thread linked above.
