Bike Lift

Post by Hempinfool » Tue Sep 22, 2026 5:58 pm

I have seen a few threads about these, but most were in the early years of our bike.
I'm hoping that after 9 years, there are a bunch of lift owners.
I want to be able to change both tires and do any maintenance that requires elevating the tires.
I currently have the Harbor Freight bike stand, so I'm covered for work at an elevated level.
I think my choices are the following; if I'm wrong, please let me know.
I've heard a few negatives about one, but I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Front and back wheel lifts.
Abba sport bike stand.
Abba sky lift.
Bursig stand.

Thanks people

I have the Skylift. It's amazing. I cannot recommend it enough. And you can get adapters for multiple bikes if you're have them.

The Skylift looks amazing, but it's kinda expensive just for tire maintenance. I guess I need to figure out the price difference between my options, not just what everyone thinks about each option.

Here's how I remove both wheels to take them to a shop for new rubber. Remove panniers, put bike on center stand, remove rear wheel. Place a jack ,with a board on it to distribute the force, under the engine and lift just enough to get the front off the ground. Remove front wheel. The wood brace you see below was added only because my floor jack loses pressure over time, so I want to make sure everything stays in place while I'm out getting tires put on.

I've gotten some negative comments warning me about how unsafe this is. I've done it numerous times with no tipovers or other issues.

Those stands look very well built! I don't know if shipping and conversion would make them too expensive.
Great write-up and pics!!
Thank you
