Helmet lock

Post by Raddy47 » Sat Jun 22, 2019 4:27 am

I have only seen one pic of a helmet lock on this site or anywhere for that matter actually on the bike.

I just did mine.

A bit tedious but very fun once you understand the process.

Side note. Don’t rivet the last piece until the screw is in. The reason for the bracket is to cover the bolt so it cannot be disassembled by someone trying to steal the bracket/lock.

I made this mistake and had to drill out and put new rivets in.

Here are some pics.

Its ridiculous that this is a $100+ accessory. They used to be standard fitment on bikes up to the early 90s but so were radiator guards I guess. On a bike of this calibre I would have thought Kawasaki would just fit the thing and not gouge its customers for it.

Yea I agree. 60-80USD I can maybe see but 120 was my total price after taxes. Definitely hurts. Used the lock for first time today. I don’t plan on tanking on it to test it’s strength but so far so good.

Nice install, Raddy47. Would you share what the part number is for the lock setup?

I don’t have any additional info other than what’s in the picture.
But here is a link for 2019 se+ lock. $115
I’m sure they will have them for the 2018
