12v Triggered

Post by silverr1 » Sun Aug 12, 2018 12:54 am

Anyone fine an ez way to tap into triggered 12v source below the seat? I keep my radar detector there and want to find a power source that turns off with the key.

The easiest might be tail light or license plate power. There are a few connectors under the seat, not sure which ones they run through but you can look at the wiring diagram in the shop manual (see top post of Mods & Maint forum).

There is a 12v triggered below the passenger seat. I use it for a similar device.

Another option if you want a permanent hard-wired connection, is to take a switched feed (or unswitched) off the accessory relay under the fuel tank. Slightly more work but it keep your accessories connected to the accessory circuit and fuse. See this thread for details.
