Re: Shark helmet
"Is it only DOT? No offense but I don't trust just DOT."...none taken.
"And, true to form, the Ridill scored four stars in the SHARP safety test meaning it should offer excellent protection in an accident."
Pretty sure it'll keep my head from crackin open should that ever happen.I'm not concerned. They're not gonna sell something that's inherently dangerous.

Re: Shark helmet
DOT is basically the lowest common denominator. Skull caps with just barely enough protection to save a squirrel are DOT rated. I generally do not buy anything that's not SNELL rated. They brutalize the fuck out of helmets. There's a reason no modular helmets are currently SNELL rated (though they urge people to push manufacturers to improve/submit them for testing).
To each their own, and buy/do what you want. But DOT can mean the difference between brain damaged, and not, nevermind dead or alive.

Re: Shark helmet
I don't plan on living if I get a head on.Regardless of rating lol.Otherwise,it'll be fine.
"I generally do not buy anything that's not SNELL rated"...neither do I.This lid is the exception.I'll never buy another 500+ dollar helmet.(course,I've never bought a 500 lid)If it wasn't in the 900 to 1000+ range,I'd dismiss it straightaway.
