brake upgrade

Post by vcyclenut » Wed Aug 21, 2019 6:55 pm

I hadn't ridden the beast in a few weeks as ive been riding the MT07 and my 1299

Two things are immediately noticeable when getting back on the H2

1) Good lord its a beast of a motor, so smooth and effortless to make jail term speeds

2) the bike could use more brakes

I understand the physics behind a heavy bike and lots of power taking more stopping time and you quickly adjust and get used to it but I was wondering if anyone has done any pad changes they felt helped or any other brake improvements

Thanks

I've used Double H pads on other bikes and they do improve performance... but they are pretty harsh on rotors.

I did upgraded pads, that helped a good bit. Also installed Brembo master cylinder, that helped a lot as well. At the end of the day though, remember this is a heavy bike, she's not going to stop as fast as a supersport bike, but you can make it better.

Does anyone know if the H2 or SE+ calipers and rotors will bolt up to to the SE? All part numbers are different but just wondering. Putting Brembos on the front would definitely help!

Installed the double HH pads in my 2018 last year and it made a big difference. No on 2019 SX SE + so have Brembos as standard which are a little better.
