I have an opportunity to snag a set of headers off a 16-17 zx10r locally. Not sure it would fit but for 60 bucks is it worth a shot to eliminate the cat and the go with a slip on? Should I try it ?
I know the collector/length is different then the gen4. Not sure if they are the same at the head end of it. But for $60, might as well try. Will most likely still need the spacers.

I’ll probably snag it this weekend if it’s still for sale. Not holding my breath though.. saving that for your project

16-17 have part of the cat at the collector, the rest of it in the "lunch box". The only ones I have seen with no cat are the 11-15. I just finished installing my mid with an Akrapovic can and took it for a ride yesterday. Oh hell, that flash from vcyclenut for the ZX10R header with Sprint filter is the sheeetz!

Yes, it seems we’re all “Exhausted “ about waiting for someone to make a full exhaust for this bike! A simple bolt on,without monkeying around with clamps, midpipes ,or mufflers would be nice! GET ER’ DONE!!!!

So after holding pipe in hands there definitely isn’t a part of the cat in the headers. Though it may look that way it’s not so. Essentially an extension of the pipes coming together. If you are going based off pictures I understand how you may think that. Looking down into the piece of the headers it’s straight up like any other header. There’s no additional chambers. This still might not be a good choice because of length but I’ll find out later.

Ok, like you said it looks that way. It's odd. 11-15 many tuners found the OEM header with cat delete made the best power. 16-18 most tuners pulled them for aftermarket. It will be interesting to compare both on our bikes. Headers by themselves don't tend to make that much of a difference on newer bikes. The manufacturers get them fairly close. My guess is not much difference. We shall see. I can't use what I have with the flash and 11-15 header.

What’s your setup? Are you using a pipe that you think needs a different tune other than what comes from flashing the ecu?
