rear hugger

Post by kawamad » Sun Mar 29, 2020 8:58 am

Noticed that some are fitting a powerbronse rear hugger well great idea. always had a hugger on all my bikes mainly to keep the crab off the rear shock. but I'm I right in thinking the powerbronse hugger dose not seem to carry on down to protect the rear shock.. all the other huggers I've had.. have a extra small extension that slides between the front of the rear wheel and frame it's a extension of the hugger that's gives more protection to the rear shock. ok the powerbronse hugger will protect the undertray rear end better than the o.e.m Kawasaki have supplied but what about the rear shock.. if I've missed something here then  but I can only find one rear hugger for the h2 sx se and that's powerbronse and when looking at the hugger it seems to be designed to help stop crab from being chuck up around the undertray but not the rear shock. or I'm I the one who thinks this?

Thanks for your replies.. just ordered a powerbronse hugger matt black with silver inserts :) phoned powerbronse and they said it's approx 3 inchs longer to cover more of the undertray. But dose not extend down more than the o.e.m hugger to protect the bottom of the shock mounting due to insufficient space. this might sound a bit o.c.d preventing water and dirt around the shock mounting bolts.. but year's ago I replaced a rear shock and the mounting bolts were seized solid mainly due to being unprotected against the elements. at least the powerbronse hugger looks better and designed better than the o.e.m hugger

I noticed that the break line runs through the hugger, would you mind giving me an overview before I jump into it? Thanks

I was curious about these guys as quality looks very good but I want the protection to be as good as powerbronze, if the moto version does not more than the stock unit I will stick w stock till more options

The motocomposites pieces are identical to the factory pieces, they are just carbon fiber.

I've ridden through all sorts of weather, and both paved and off-road with the SxSe (don't recommend), and I honestly don't really see a reason to try and get "more protection" personally, but your bike is not my bike. :)

I am not paying for a hugger which is basically same as stock except for being carbon. 100% agree w you the factory version is more than adequate for me when a powerbronze is going to cost me 250 shipped into Canada, that's not gonna happen:)

I bought the powerbronze matt black with silver mesh, but decided i don't want it. If anyone wants it in usa, i can sell it to you cheap. It's brand new.
