Valentine 1 / Marc Parnes LED alert

Post by Pud1 » Mon Nov 22, 2021 10:27 pm

I am planning to install a Valentine1 Radar Detector in conjunction with a Marc Parnes LED Visual Alert. Has anyone done this, and can comment on how well this works, and where you mounted the various components (Direct Wire Power Adapter & Remote Audio Adapter with ESP) ?

I’ve had Marc Parnes lights. I used them for 1 trip on my BMW K1600, and then I gave them away for free to a fella on the K1600 forum. I hated them so much, I even paid the shipping to the guy! Seriously, they’re that bad. For 1 thing, they don’t tell you the K/KA band of radar, and #2- the lights do not catch ones attention anywhere near what sound does.

I now use Bose QC-20 noise-cancelling ear buds underneath my Shoei Neotec 2. They cut the wind noise by 90%, and my music and radar alerts come thru crystal clear.

The Bose are incredible, and have a 90-day money back guarantee so you have nothing to lose. Protecting ones hearing on a motorcycle is sooooo important.

Oh, and the Marc Parnes cost me a speeding ticket in that 1 and only trip I had them.

Here is the set up from my K1600…
