License plate brackets.

Post by Bryan468 » Fri Sep 04, 2020 7:10 pm

This was kind of a last minute decision but I had a forum member ask for a set of license plate brackets like the ones I have on my bike so I decided to make 5 sets in case anyone else wanted a set.

They are designed to work with a integrated tail light as there are no mounting brackets for signals. They are also designed to work with a US license plate so those of you outside the US might have to drill new holes in your license plate.

If these end up being something that more of you want I may make a bigger batch of them this winter and start stocking them along with the other items I sell.

If anyone is interested in a set let me know.

Oof. I want a bracket like that, but I don't want to mess with the integrated taillight teardown business. X.x

Guess I'll have to think about it.

It's not about how easy it is, honestly. I just wish there was a direct replacement solution like I had on my 6R. The only integrated I've seen is the one where you crack open the taillight and replace the board.

Is there another one I'm missing?

That’s the only one I’m aware of. I thought I read a post by them somewhere and they said something along the lines of it costing thousands of dollars to make a mold for a tail light for our bikes so until it becomes a more popular mod they would only be offering the retro fit kit.

The kit is nice though and they provide a nice video to help guide you through the process if it’s something you decide to do eventually. It also really helps clean up the tail section of the bike.

Yea, I asked motodynamics if they were going to make one for our bike and they said no, at least not currently. Not enough demand. I loved their taillight on my 6R. My buddy had one for his 650 as well.

Right, so I caved, got the CustomLED kit and Bryan's license plate bracket.

Swapping in the CustomLED sucked but wasn't awful. Bryan's kit was...a no brainier. I'd already had the Yoshi kit so it was super easy for me to swap the new bracket in vs the OEM tail tidy.

I used the license plate light from Yoshi, and slightly longer bolts.

Glad you got it all figured out. Tail section looks nice and clean now.

Vex, I like the look of that exhaust. Shorties are usually too noisy for me, but yours gets a high score on the looks.
