Lowering Handle Bars?

Post by pyrax » Sun Jun 02, 2019 5:28 pm

Hey guys, I was looking at the H2 and my H2SX and noticed the handlebar positions are different. I understand thats because the H2sx is suppose to be a "sport-touring" bike. I was wondering if there would be a way to lower the handle bars to a position more like the H2. Im young and just have a better knack for the sportier feel. No hate please (: Thank you guys!

If the H2 bar is a lower profile, how about buy an H2 bar and put it on your bike?

Putting H2 clip ons onto an H2 SX probably won't work. On the H2 the bars are mounted under the upper triple tree. On the SX that would cause the bars to hit the fairings.

If you want lower bars you're going to have to get something custom made.

Thats what i thought too. My question is, I have seen carbon fiber fairings for the h2. are the h2 fairings interchangeable with the h2sx fairings?

reviving this thread to ask some questions. Im a fairly short rider at 5'5 and was doing research about lowering links and lowering the front end. i know brock makes lowering links for the h2sx. My question is, if i am lowering the bike, that means ill have more room on the triple tree. If i was able to get universal clip ons, do you think if i mount the clip ons below the triple tree i could have enough clearance to not hit my fairings? Thanks everyone for listening to my skeptical ideas!

I share cOoTeR's view that fitting H2-style bars under the upper triple tree would cause the bars to hit the fairings.

If you're lowering the front by dropping the bike down the forks then then you will have more fork tube projecting above the upper triple tree. Once the OEM handlebar clamps are removed, you may have enough room to fit clip-ons above the upper triple tree. My initial thought is that they will still clash with the fairing but it wouldn't need much effort to go out and experiment before committing to changes.
