Rear Seat Cowl -OEM

I ordered a green Kawasaki (OEM) rear seat cowl from my dealer here in the USA (cost about $375). Matching paint is important to me, although I know there are a lot more aftermarket options (many from China) out there for a fraction of the price. The Kawasaki website shows that this part will fit both 2021 and 2022 zH2s, but it has been “out of stock” for months. My dealer could not give any ETA on fulfilling my order because his part system does not reflect any product availability dates (none even projected) for the seat cowl. Certainly I thought that Kawasaki would run a new lot with the release of 2022 zH2s and I would snatch one up, but nothing yet.

Has anyone heard anything about the availability of this green OEM seat cowl?

International availability?

Any experience with aftermarket that might convince me to go the cheaper route — worried about quality and color?

Just because it's from China, doesn't mean it's bad. All of the carbon fiber parts on my bike are from China, for instance, and they are top quality. /Shrug

The green seat cowl for 2021 and 2022 zH2s are now available at Kawasaki.com. Off back order, but don’t wait if you want one- they will sell out quickly…

Well, my cowl came in a box with parts for assembly. Did not see that coming. Photo has parts laid out. Directions were challenging for me—diagrams not very good. One part gave me fits and I had to do some sanding to take off about 3 mm to the part circled in yellow in the diagram (no. 12). I also had to go to the hardware store to get a longer 5mm bolt. Kit came with a 12mm and 16mm was needed IMO. See circled rubber insert (x2) that is key to mounting the metal frame to the plastic cowl. Needless to say this whole process took me several hours when it should have taken 15 minutes or less. Posting here to help others going down this trail. In the end, you can’t deny that the green OEM paint for the H2 line is absolutely incredible. Posted finished project to show it off!

Ugh. I really want a standalone cowl for the Sx that's not garbage. I'm jelly.
