Luimoto Tank Pads/Panels info & pics

Post by SDH2Mike » Sat Jun 20, 2020 5:12 pm

These are a nice 5 piece set of pads made with quality material. The addition of the 2 tank panel pads really helps with grip under braking. I created a mock-up and sent to Luimoto and helped in the process to get the 1st set.

Installing is pretty simple, there is a short install video they created to watch that has a few tips. The toughest part is (removing the adhesive) left behind after removing the OEM plastic pad. The pad comes off relatively easy tho but my thumbs sure hurt!
Personally I think they look great and my plastic tank pad just needed to be binned. These are not the cheapest option out there and looks are always subjective so I’ll just leave it at that. One option I would have liked is an emerald green thread alternative as the lime thread is a little light. The carbon weave material looks great with my Sargent seat however. I’m not sure the Tank panel pads are on the Luimoto site yet so a person may have to reach out to them.

Yes they have the 3 piece tank set. A person would have to enquire about the under tank panels. Those 2 are the are the additional ones I helped get produced.

Comfy sure, but how grippy are they? Already have a set waiting to install, but might consider selling/discarding for these.

I do not slide forward anymore when gripping with my knees. The under tank ones do a good job. The material has a rougher texture to them. Luimoto would probably send you a sample of the material I bet. I can post a close up pic if you want.
