I think of it as a SPORT-tourer, versus my FJR that's a sport-TOURER. It's definitely as a sporty as a sport-touring machine can get. The only comfort mod I did on mine is I had the seat rebuilt as the stock seat was horrible. Other than that I find the ergos perfect. Just got back from an 1850 mile trip riding lots of twisties in NM. Yup, it's not a pure sports bike by any means, but it handles the twisties quite well.

Sport/Touring, or Touring/Sport🤔 on the Kawasaki lineup
U do have the 1000 ninja ABS, which has detachable bags, very
Similar to the H2SX, that would be “Sport/Touring “,
And in the “Touring/Sport”end, u have the Concours 1400🤨
While quite heavy, it does have a stout engine! And
Very comfortable!...but I guess if u only have one bike that has to do it all, make it fit your needs.

gets better gas mileage in low power mode for touring (exclusive to my flash :) )
Oh geez. I forgot all about this feature of your flash on my last trip. Averaged about 35mpg in Full. I will have to try out the Low setting on my next trip!!

I tour the heck out of this thing quickly and love it. 28,000 miles so far, next week will be about 3000 miles over 10 days.

I’ve never owned a bike and not modded it.

Some for looks, some for performance, some for comfort.

I don’t see motorcycles as “one size fits all”.

If the mods I do to a bike make it more suitable to what I’m after, and don’t ruin another desired feature they are a bonus.

I like 200hp, I like handling, I like comfort, I like the extra features.
Yes, I may mod my SX, but there’s nothing I’d trade it for I wouldn’t want to mod.

Far from not understanding mods, I don’t understand folk who think a bike is perfect and can’t be improved on in any way.

All the parts and mods listed in the original post are available for a reason.
You might not want to but them, but to others they may make a better bike.

I mean... First big thing I've done to mine is install a steering damper. IMO it should've come with one to begin with. I sure as hell will be swapping filters, exhaust, getting a tune from vcyclenut, etc. Honestly most of that is pretty SOP for any bike I get.

Nothing is perfect or just right for you, from the factory. Make it yours.
