Launch control

Post by Snakes709 » Sun May 02, 2021 4:29 pm

Went to the drag strip the other night for the first street legals of the year. Could not for the life of me launch worth a damn. Its been said that the launch control actually slows you down and not to use it. So i tried a few runs with krtc 1 and with launch control on and then a few with it off.

You can see in the one picture with the launch control on, after i fucked my launch up, i go wide open throttle in 1st but it doesnt give me full power until i hit 3rd gear.

With launch control off and fucking my launch up yet again i rip on the throttle which i quickly let off once my front wheel started coming up rather quickly, but once i get into 2nd gear i go back to wot and the ecu lets me have about 97% power with the front wheel skimming on the ground.

Gotta shake off the winter cobwebs and practice launching as all of my 60’ times were embarrassing.

not easy to launch a big powerful bike, love the data logging!!!!

im sure you will keep getting better and better and you should get some good air up there to really rip off some high mph numbers

I have never been that great at launching bikes at the deag strip. Last year i was consistent with a 2.0 60’. The other night i was cutting 2.3-2.6. Just couldnt get off the line worth a damn. But at least I got to see what everyone means by launch control actually slows you do down.

i think you should test it again when you get better at launching it, im guessing as you get better the launch control will be better because it wont have to intervene as much.

you may find that you can run a better time with out it but are more consistent with it , idk though im just guessing

Ill definitely do that. I wanna try launch control with krtc off and see if the data logs show anything different.

I'm way more consistent with it. But honestly, my launches are so terrible they have made up names for me and my off the line prowess. (it's not that bad but they love to see me lose)

I've seen a couple of guys with the H2 launch pretty well with launch control. I would think ours is the same as on the H2?

Launch control would be the same but clutch is most likely different.
