Could put it in on a trial basis, then prune it if it doesn't appear to be useful. To be fair, the Polls section doesn't have much going on and probably could be pruned as well.

Having said that, I'd post in Tech because it would be expected of me based on the questions I might ask, but I'd be just as fine posting in M&M.

Not just gearheads, but a low membership generally. Current number is 670 - I'd guess less than half of those don't visit the forum on a regular basis. I like the techy side of it but seems like a fair point that H2SXadmin made.

But what has it really got do to with traffic? I'm having a difficult time wrapping my head around a 'numbers' thing.

Numbers wise, it would likely keep, or maintain the same overall forum traffic that has been 'historic', lets' say, as now, the difference between, for example, 100 users, this is not a true users 'count' of the Mods and Maint sub-forum, but example 100 users going to Mods and Maint, and with a Tech section, with some of those 100 users specifically utilizing a Tech section from time to time, still maintains the same over all 'user base' numbers, while providing a specific place in the 'library' for those folks to meet.

A specific place in the 'library' would be excellent.

If it is about numbers then why not cull a, or cull a few low visited topic sections, such as Scratch Pad or the Watercooler, where the traffic seems 'low' and not visited or rarely visited? I'd surmise a Tech section would have more traffic than the Watercooler or Scratch Pad.

Is the forum limited to a specific number of sub forums?

As far as I know, this forum is the 'place' to come for H2SX discussion. Yes there is an other or are several other forums, but the traffic at those sites, is, well, very low.

I'd hope we'd not need to crank out such a 'discussion'/debate, about an interest and 'justification' for a 'Tech' sub-forum to meet the interests of 'Tech' heads.

I'd hope to keep this forum the 'place' to come for all H2SX folks.

Is the H2SX not a performance motorcycle? How many motorcycles have a gear driven turbo? Just look at all the other forums, KTM,Z1000, Hayabusa, ZX14R, etc. they all have
Tech sections....but will a tech section have more traffic?
I know I’d be visiting that sub-section often! ...but then again,
It’s all up to the administration.
