Picked up my SX SE Saturday

Post by Champ87 » Mon Apr 09, 2018 2:12 am

The wait has come to an end - almost. I picked up my SX SE Saturday, Unfortunately, temp here in Indiana was a sweaty 37°F (3°C). I braved it to try my new ride until the Ice Warning light came on. Didn't know your SX had an ice warning? You do now. Now I just have to wait a few more day for warmer weather.

Hoping this forum will provide as much useful information as previous forum experiences and hoping I can repay with my own contributions.

Congrats on the H2SX. Lots of good info here and there are more members joining as now the bikes are getting to the dealerships.

Welcome, Champ87. This forum is in its early stage and already full of good people sharing info. I really enjoyed the Triumphrat.net site and all the good members there. I got my SE on 30 March and have 388 miles on it. Really looking forward to the 500 mile mark and moving from the 4K rpm limit to 6K.

When I get a few more miles on it then I won't stick religiously to the 4K rpm limit. I do believe in following some sort of break in procedure though, so might as well go use Kawasaki's recommendations as a general guide. With only 1 mile on the odo when I picked the bike up I definitely wasn't going to thrash it. Besides, I was wearing about 6 layers of clothing to keep out the cold - a situation that didn't lend itself to enthusiastic riding.

It's amazing how fast you can go when you take your time.

It was a mere 38F in Austin this past weekend so it gave me a chance to use my freeze-out gear. Man that stuff is worth it's weight in gold. Oh, the heated grips get nice and toasty. Warmer weather is just around the corner. Enjoy your bike!
