New H2 Sx Se rider in Indy

Post by Crown Hill » Sun Mar 03, 2019 9:33 am

Hello everyone. Just picked up my H2 Sat. Only have 10 miles on it. I hope to learn and share a lot. My first question is about the smell. It's my first brand new bike and I figure its oil burning off the headers. Anyone else experience this?

Congratulations Crown Hill, welcome to blower biking! I didn't notice any oil burning off on mine but as long as it isn't leaking oil, leaving a spot under the bike I wouldn't worry too much. Might have got some oil somewhere hot when the oil was added when the dealer received it and was preparing it for sale but that should go away pretty quick.

When I bought mine, I had some odd smell for a while, like paint burning. It didn’t last too long and no issues. I had the same experience with a few other bikes I bought brand new and was not an issue at all.
Enjoy the bike!

Sorry for not responding. Got caught checking other post. It is a 2018 model. I feel like my front breaks are rubbing even when I am not using them. I am guessing this is initial wear but not sure. Has any one else found this to be true?
